Villa Banyan is a beautiful space to immerse into nature & beauty; a retreat for a romantic getaway or family excursion, a sweet home away from home. Built in 1916, it's a private cottage renovated with luxurious amenities w/ original charm. Villa Banyan is a beautiful stand alone cottage with a lovely front yard garden and an outdoor deck at the back of the house. There's a giant Magnolia tree in the private garden. In the spring, it blooms so beautifully and drops thousands of pink petals; in the summer, it forms a gorgeous canopy to provide shade with dapples of sun - sitting in the garden is a real joy. Wake up listening to bird songs, sip coffee/tea in the private front yard garden and enjoy the morning sun kissing the trees and palm leaves; rest in the swinging egg chair or relax on the bench; cook a romantic dinner in the fully equipped kitchen with high end appliances and amenities, soak in the outdoor 20 jets JACUZZI under the stars ... We can think of a few fun things for you to do. Villa Banyan has a small room with a door to close as dedicated office/work space. With 1.2G ultra fast wifi, it's an ideal space for work while on vacation! Villa Banyan is close to the Emeryville shopping center/restaurants/movie theaters etc. A few minutes drive to the Bay Bridge, San Francisco can be reached in as little as 15 minutes. Going to either Berkeley or Oakland from here is just a few minutes drive. Villa Banyan is primarily set up for 2 guests; the left part of the L shape sofacan be opened and turned into a queen bed, if you have a family member or additional guests. Please do let us know if you are going to use the sofa bed and we will prepare additional linen and comforter. THE KITCHEN / DINING AREA We got everything for you to have romantic dinners and feel at home. The full kitchen is equipped with all new and high end amenities: designer coffee machine, Kitchen Aid stove and oven, microwave, retro design kettle, toaster, dishwasher. Pots & pans, drinkware, silverware and dinner porcelain in cabinets. THE PRIVATE GARDEN Step out to the private little front yard/garden. Enjoy a breakfast or afternoon drink here while listening to birds singing. (birds come seasonally) Rest in the fun swinging egg chair in the afternoon dappled sunlight under the trees and enjoy a bit of quiet time. It’s quite lovely here... WIFI + Dedicated Work Space Villa Banyan features 1200 Mbps ultra fast wifi which allows working from home super easy. There's a small office space with closed door for you to do all your conference calls with privacy. Bamboo Spa, Tea House & Jacuzzi The Bamboo Spa is a gated garden with bamboo, fruit trees and variety of flowers; a paved stone path leads to the Bamboo Tea House. In the garden, the 20 jet heated Jacuzzi is always on, features an ozone system that sanitizes constantly and is open 24 hours. Soaking under the stars listening to the sweet night breeze is one of a kind experience! We keep the cover on at all time to preserve the heat. The jacuzzi is share with 2 cottages and reservation required between 6:00-10:00PM. (no reservations needed at all other time) LAUNDRY Villa Banyan has in-house washer/dryer; we have laundry detergent and iron for you as well. PARKING Safe parking space on property behind the house by the deck. Please note the driveway is narrow. GYM/YOGA ROOM We have a small gym at the back of the house; it has a brand new treadmill and yoga mats & excising balls; a great space to do some cardio, yoga or just sit for some quiet time/meditation. ROSE GARDENS: There are many beautiful roses throughout the property. For rose lovers, here’s a list of our roses. We try to label the names of the roses if you are curious to learn what they are. Note this list might not be complete as we constantly plant new ones; also not all will be blooming at the time when you arrive as roses normally bloom in flushes, but we should always have some roses blooming from late April through December.
