You will stay in the Pignone district a stone's throw from the Porta di San Frediano and outside the restricted traffic area. You will be able to explore and venture through the narrow streets of San Frediano among historic buildings, artisan shops and new trendy places, discovering the Market in Piazza San Spirito and the Basilica of Santa Maria del Carmine, with the incredible Brancacci Chapel frescoed by Masaccio and Filippo Lippi...and this is only the beginning!
On the other side of the river Arno, reachable on foot, is the Cascine park, the green area of the city where it is possible to do free outdoor activities and in summer even a swim in the historic swimming pool of the Pavoniere.
Beside to the park there is also the new Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, an obligatory stop for lovers of opera, ballet and classical music.
In the immediate vicinity of the apartment there is a supermarket, bars, pastry shops, various restaurants, a gym and much more.

How to reach us:
-FROM PERETOLA AIRPORT:
inside the airport take tramway line T2 and get off at the penultimate stop 'Alamanni Stazione' (about 25 min. by tram). From the opposite track, take the T1 line towards 'Villa Costanza'; get off the third stop 'Paolo Uccello'. When you get off go to the left side in via Vanni and walk for 7 minutes until a roundbound, piazza Gaddi, the second street on the left is Ponte Sospeso street, about fifty meters on the left is n.5.
FROM THE STATION :
the Santa Maria Novella station is a 20-minute walk, but you can reach us with the T1 line of the tramway stop 'Alamanni-Stazione direction 'Villa Costanza', get off at the third stop 'Piazza Paolo Uccello'. Then, proceed for 7 minutes in via Vanni until piazza Taddeo Gaddi (a large roundabout). The second street on the right is Ponte Sospeso street, about fifty meters on the left is n.5.

-On the roads:
we are outside the ZTL, you can park on the street or nearby, exclusively on the Blue Stripes, for a fee, from 8 to 20 on weekdays and free on holidays. Beware of cleaning the streets, in our district every odd Tuesday of the month from midnight to 6 in the morning.
I advise you to read the signs displayed on the street.

Tram: from the "piazza Uccello" stop you can connect with the railway station, the airport (30min. Approx.), The Careggi hospital, the Fortezza da Basso etc.
Bus: the 6 stop 'Universal Cinema' 5 minutes away on via Pisana can connect you to the station and to the historic center.
the n.12 stop 'Via de Vanni' is 3 minutes from home, can take you directly to Piazzale Michelangelo.

"Moovit": if you want to use public transport in the city or its surroundings, this app can be very useful for knowing the itineraries, the nearest stops, timetables and waiting times, always updated in real time.
"Feel Florence": is an app created by the Municipality of Florence for tourists and non-tourists, where you can find information of various kinds: from events in the city, to guides to historic districts, up to information on bike rentals or guided tours of each type, info on left luggage, "cards" for admission to several museums...try to download it!
"Mobike": is a 'bike-sharing' service with which it is possible to use electric and traditional bicycles. The app is called 'Movi by Mobike' and lets you find the vehicle closest to you.
