My family and I stayed in Alvaro’s place and had a lovely time. The place is beautifully updated with modern touches while maintaining some historic features. The place is as described and matches the photos. It was spacious enough for the 4 of us! It was in a great location which made it walkable to almost every where we wanted to go. The neighborhood was safe (something we look for when traveling with kids). The apartment is very secure and locks automatically which was a nice feature. The elevator was surprisingly larger than most in Europe. It can fit 4 people easily. The closets were spacious. The place was clean. The master bedroom had a king size bed similar to a US king and was very comfortable. Alvaro was a great host who communicated often. I highly recommend this place! There are no negatives except that one of the nights we stayed, it got noisy with the garbage trucks and people talking below on the streets. It’s no problem if you have ear plugs or are a deep sleeper.
Great flat which is clean and very bright. In a quiet location and easy to walk to the main attractions. Had a very local feel with a great selection of restaurants and bars nearby. Impressive entrance and elevator!
This is our second AirBnB in Madrid and definitely worth staying here. I wish we had more time to see the surrounding areas as we only stayed for one night and it was raining during the morning before our check out so we couldn’t walk the Retiro Park which is so close to the apartment. The entrance of the elevator is breathtaking as it transports you back in time. The building inside has an elegant design. The apartment was clean, furniture was minimalistic and made the apartment clutter free. The master bedroom has a spacious bathroom, but the second bathroom is quite small. The neighborhood is very nice, lots of restaurants that are walking distance, but there’s a major street on the corner where many taxi drivers pass by regularly. Alvaro was a great host. He was always quick to response when we had a question. The check in and check out process was smooth. He allowed us to leave our luggages with Carlos, the concierge, until we ate breakfast.
