This modern spacious apartment is perfect for any stay. If you're in a hurry here's the deal: Spacious Setting - The private English basement apartment has a full kitchen and luxurious living area with an electric fireplace, streaming services on a 4K smart TV, a video gaming system, a bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, and a private front entrance. Comfortable sleeping - There is a deluxe memory foam queen-sized bed in the bedroom, sure to give you a great night's sleep. In the living room, the sofa can also be folded out into an extra bed. Extra blankets and pillows are provided. Convenience - We stock the kitchen with all the kitchenware you'll need if you decide to do some light cooking. Enjoy a fresh pot of coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, and popcorn available and complimentary for your stay. In the bathroom, you'll find a hairdryer and a variety of bath products for your use. Great location - The street is relatively quiet within EASY walking distance to the bustling nightlife of H Street, and great public transit makes accessing the many nearby attractions easy! Take a ride on the new H St. streetcar - it’s free! The U.S. Capitol, Union Station (with access to the metro red line), National Mall, and Supreme Court are just over a mile away (a brief walk or easy access via bus or streetcar!). Three bus lines are just down the street and two additional bus lines are two blocks away! You can easily get anywhere from here. -- Fun space - Enjoy a glass of wine by the fireplace, kick up your feet, and stream some movies or shows on our 4K TV, play on the Xbox One, or read a book from our library. --Parking - street parking may be available. Please contact the host for additional information. Guest access Coded entry - Our passcode access allows for easy entry at your convenience. The full apartment is yours to enjoy! Other things to note Kitchen: The kitchen has a dishwasher, range/oven, full refrigerator, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, and is stocked with glassware, plates, utensils, bakeware, pots/pans, spices, cutlery, and (hopefully) everything you might want to prepare a delicious meal! We might suggest taking a walk to the Union Market district (just a 6 block walk!) to grab some fresh and local foods. Public transit cards: There are SmartTrip cards (for much easier use of the bus and metro/subway) available in the apartment for use. Just fill them up as you need at a metro station. Access/Mobility Concerns: There are several steps from the sidewalk up to the house and then a full flight of stairs down to the front entrance of the apartment. Although this is an English basement apartment, the ceiling height is more than generous in all living areas. Noise: The apartment is new construction and well-insulated, but sound may travel a bit. We'll be mindful of our noise while you are staying with us, and ask that you show us the same courtesy! Timing: Check-in is anytime after 3:00pm, check-out is 11:00am. Cleaning: Basic cleaning supplies are provided we hope you will respect our home and keep it tidy during your stay. The apartment is professionally cleaned in between every stay. Plumbing: Our basement lies below the grade of the city sewer system, so the drain lines (shower, washer, dishwasher, sinks, toilets, etc.) in the apartment flow into a pump system to discharge UP and out. You may notice a brief noise when the pump turns, particularly during high water use. And importantly, because the discharge water must go through the pump system, we kindly ask that you PLEASE do not flush personal items (rubber, plastic, diapers, wipes, feminine products, etc.) down the toilet.
