Situated in a quiet area of Sydney’s eclectic Inner West, The Butchers Nook is a heritage listed former butchers shop (circa 1915) turned cosy retreat, and has everything you need for a weekend visit or an extended stay. We are 10 mins by cab from the airport, close to public transport links and within walking distance from the small bars, coffee shops, restaurants and shops in and around Marrickville, Newtown & Enmore. Proudly a LGBGTQI+ ally 🏳️🌈 Safe & secure space for solo guests The Butchers Nook is a stand-alone apartment attached to but completely separate from our main house. It has its own entrance and private courtyard at the back. Although we don’t have a ‘no kids’ policy, our space is not suitable for young children. There is one Queen bed and a maximum of 2 people, so if your older child is ok to share with you then we are happy to welcome them. There’s a large beautifully decorated living space with workbench/dining area, tv, dvd player, comfy lounge and cosy oversized armchair in which to curl up and read or doze the day away. In the dresser there’s a selection of games, jigsaw puzzles and books. There’s extra cushions and throws to layer up on cooler days. We have reverse cycle aircon to keep you cool or warm depending on the season. The bedroom has a queen sized four poster bed with luxurious linen sheets, dimmable pendant lights and a wardrobe to pop away all your belongings into. Cosy bathrobes are hanging behind the bedroom door to snuggle into during your stay. Down the long hall is the bathroom on your left and the kitchen and courtyard at the rear. The full kitchen has everything you need including an induction stove, fan forced oven and a washing machine and dryer hidden in the corner cabinets. We stock a basic pantry which includes ground coffee for plunger or stove top espresso maker, sugar, a selection of teas, hot chocolate, marshmallows, biscuits, and salt, pepper, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. There will be a small container of fresh milk in the fridge to tide you over on day one. There’s also chilled sparkling and still water in the fridge. Being so close to the airport means there can be some aircraft noise depending on which runway is in use. There is an airport curfew and we do supply earplugs just in case! The Butchers Nook is a non smoking/vaping property, including the courtyard.

Beautiful place to stay!
A lovely cosy place with everything you need (and more!) Close to shops, restaurants and music venues. Walking distance to the train. We’ll be back.
This was our second time staying at the Butchers Nook and it certainly won’t be our last. Look no further than their beautiful bnb, it is absolutely perfect. It’s super cool, cozy and unique. They were the perfect hosts, always responsive and went above and beyond to welcome us back. 10000/10. X
Perfection! Such a wonderful space, such a comfy bed too. Great location, easy to park and the 11am check out was welcomed after our night. Simone is so helpful, really went above and beyond for us.
This is by far my favorite Airbnb I’ve stayed in. Everything about it was incredible. The location is central to everything, the apartment had everything we needed and more, our host Simone was incredibly sweet and very quick to respond. Thank you so much for the beautiful visit, highly recommend.

St Peter’s is a quiet oasis in the midst of the vibrant Inner West suburbs of Newtown, Enmore, Marrickville and Alexandria. From here everything you need is within a 20 minute walk. From the vintage shops, bars, eateries and nightlife of Newtown, the main LGBTQI suburb of Sydney, to the multicultural restaurants, small bars and micro breweries of Marrickville and the live venues all around the surrounding suburbs, you will wonder why you only booked a weekend instead of a fortnight!
During the day you are close to the lovely Cooks River walk starting from Tempe train station or you can climb the big hill in the beautiful and sprawling Sydney Park and take in the amazing views of the city and surrounds. Perhaps you feel like hanging out at a local weekend Market (Addison Rd or Carriageworks) or trawling up and down King St in Newtown looking for the perfect vintage outfit or finding that rare vinyl LP at Repressed Records before heading over to the magical The Grounds of Alexandria for brunch or lunch in their enchanting gardens. In the evening catch some comedy at The Factory in Marrickville or see who’s playing at the famous Enmore Theatre. Wander up Marrickville Rd for dinner or to check out a small bar or local pub.
During the day head to Sydenham station and from there you can catch a train to almost anywhere in Sydney. It’s only 10 mins to the city (hop off at Circular Quay and jump on a ferry to the zoo) on an express train and 20 minutes to Bondi Junction. Really, it’s Sydney at your doorstep just waiting for you to head out and explore.
We are 10 mins by car from both the international and domestic airports.
BUSES AND TRAINS: We are 200 metres from a bus station that will take you to Newtown and the city or some Eastern Suburb beaches and a 5 minute walk from Sydenham Station which is a hub at which many train lines travel through. You can get pretty much anywhere in Sydney from here. It’s 10 mins to the city by express train and about 20 mins to Bondi Junction. You can catch a train to the airport, changing at Wolli Creek.
PARKING: There is a range of both restricted and unrestricted parking in the local streets so do check signs before leaving your car for any length of time. It’s unrestricted parking overnight and on weekends. It’s a safe area to park but as in any metropolitan area please don’t leave valuables in your car.
