My apartment is very close to public transportation. It's 250m away from BTS skytrain (Asok station) & MTR subway (Sukhumvit station), 5 minutes for walking. I recommend using the Skywalk bridge for crossing Asok intersection since there're many access from the buildings around and comfortable with escalators.

Some local taxi may charge foreigner higher than normal rate and that's illegal. You can insist them using meter for fare calculation. Calling taxi by mobile app is another option. Grab are available in Bangkok now.
