To find exact location of this room you can search for Goethe-Institut Thailand on the map. Sathorn Soi 1 is part of the Sribumpen/Ngam Du Plee/Suan Plu neighborhood. Still very much like a Thai village with mostly mom 'n pop shops and restaurants, great street food, lots of reasonably priced and good massage. Fun to explore on foot or by bike. We are very close to MRT Lumpini and 1 stop to Silom night life and 3 stops to Sukhumvit, so right in the heart of Bangkok yet quiet, green and relaxed. There is a great food court two steps from our front door with great breakfasts and lunches for $1! Great street food, street coffee and Thailand’s famous Thai Iced Tea just a few steps from the front door!
Bangkok's famous Vertigo Bar on the top of the Banyan Tree is just 10 min walk from here, Asiatique Night Market is 30 min by bike, Silom night life a 15 min walk or short bike or taxi ride and Paragon, Central World and other malls also a close bike or taxi ride away.

We are very close, less than 5 min walk to MRT Lumpini and from there 1 hop to Silom or 3 to Sukhumvit. Plenty of taxis on Sathorn Soi 1, plus GrabTaxi and Uber work well here too. Lots of motorbike taxis by day, plus there are the BIKES. We are about 25 to 30 minutes by taxi from either airport. If coming from BKK Suvarnabhumi you can also take the airport line to Makkasan and change there to the MRT in the direction of Hua Lamphong exiting at Lumpini Exit 4 for Q House/Life Center and from there walk 150 meter down Sathorn Soi 1 and turn left on Soi Goethe. Alternately you can take exit 1 (Lumpini Park View) and walk right on Rama 4 to Soi Ngam du Plee, turn right, walk 150 meters to the first right, Soi Goethe, and from there walk to our house. Our driveway is right next to EsPeRo Cafe on Soi Goethe, just across the street and 25 meters down from the German Goethe Institute.
