A walk-up in Chicago's coolest neighborhood - Pilsen! Your private bedroom has a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a tub/shower combo. There is a small desk, ample storage space, and a TV with streaming services. While your many triple-paned windows let in light, air, and sunshine, you will also hear the I-90/94 nearby. Please note that your room is on the third floor of the building (40 steps). On the second floor, you'll find (y)our kitchen, living rooms, TV den, and balcony. After twenty-something steps, you arrive in our beautifully appointed, open concept kitchen/dining/living room. Welcome! Feel free to borrow a book or magazine, and sit by the fireplace. Our kitchen is your kitchen, please help yourself to anything in the fridge or pantry. Off the TV den is a balcony, which we are happy to share with you. We take the second "B" in AirBnB seriously and invite you to breakfast at our home. Our fridge is stocked with milk, bread, orange juice, yogurts, and eggs. And there is plenty of coffee and tea. Please enjoy a great start to the day on us and help yourself!

Christiane and Patrick were super kind and hospitable and took really good care of me during my stay. Their place was extremely clean and tidy, the neighborhood was quiet, and the location was good, a quick Uber or public transit from downtown. I felt welcomed and would definitely stay here again. Christiane and Patrick were the most AMAZING hosts you can ever ask for! Their warmth and kindness made my stay all the more enjoyable. From the moment I arrived, Christiane offered me food and then breakfast. Their home is super clean and so beautifully decorated. They gave me tips on where to go to ensure that I would have a smooth time. We talked, we laughed, I truly enjoyed getting to know Christiane and Patrick. They love being hosts and it clearly shows. You are a ten-minute walk away from the “Corazón de Chicago”, the vibrant "Pilsen" center - artsy feel, beautiful buildings, plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, book- and flower stores, gyms, cobblers, and barbers - anything you may want or need! That's also where you would hop on the Halsted bus nr. 8 to go north via University Village and Greek Town to Fulton Market - for more restaurants and nightlife. From there you can venture east through the Financial District, past the Lyric Opera House to "River North", or the city center.
Ten minutes away from Bus line 8 which brings you north to Greek Town or Fulton Market (and further). Twenty minutes walk to the Red Line (Elevated train (Metro, Subway, Tube...)), which brings you north to Wrigley Field to see the Cubs play or south to see the White Sox. Speaking of sports, you are walking distance from Soldier Field (American Football, football/soccer at times, and oftentimes concerts). That's also where the Field Museum is located as well as the Aquarium, Planetarium, and Northerly Island (another little concert venue).
Back to transportation: Divvy bikes (including e-bikes) are plentiful and we have a station close by.
If you're heading to McCormick convention center, that's a twenty-minute bicycle ride or a ten-minute Lyft share.

“Do not neglect hospitality, for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels.” -Hebrews 13:2- I am a fun and funny (yes, even though I am German....go figure!) person, who loves life and people. My career in hotel business has provided hours of entertaining stories and interesting experiences. Growing up with two older sisters, I got stuck with their music - I love Classic Rock and listen to a variety of Pandora stations (Dropkick Murphy’s, Cafe Del Mar, Carlos Vives, Nigel Kennedy etc.) all day. My German roots and my family over there are very important to me, but my love for THIS country rules, and I fulfilled a childhood dream by living here. I've lived in fabulous cities and made amazing friends along the way - I bet I have a story or two to share... What else?! I ran the Chicago Marathon in '11, motorcycled through Canada in '15, I like boxing and kayaking, bicycling and seriously hanging out on my couch with a good book or a great movie. I also enjoy cooking, and love hosting people; I like heavy, dark wines and whisk(e)y. My husband and I watch Netflix together in the evening, and you are always welcome to join us. What about you!?
