Such a great find! The cottage was in a quiet, peaceful area in the heart of the city. An absolutely amazing place to stay and exactly as pictured, I would definitely book here again.

Alex's hidden cottage was safe, serene and beautifully decorated. Despite being quite near popular restaurants and Edinburgh Castle, the location was a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Local birds singing in the garden, lovely weather & a view of the castle made for a romantic experience. There are many thoughtful amenities and comforts. She also provided a selection of Scottish sweets and snacks that were fun and so different from typical American fare. As a solo traveler, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. There is also a grocery store 1/2 block away with fresh baked goods and any basic supplies you might need.

This is one of the coolest short term rentals we have ever stayed at! The location is fantastic and the place is really unique and cozy. We went for my daughter's 16th birthday and she was not disappointed. It feels private and safe, but is also in the middle of everything. The Royal Mile was a short walk up some stairs and the view of Edinburgh Castle from the property was wonderful. It was an exceptional value for the money.

if you're looking for a space that'll give you easy access to all the Edinburgh sights AND that feels like you're tucked away in your own magical garden, this is the one. Alex has done an incredible job curating a gorgeous, cozy cottage that offers a little slice of solitude in the midst of a bustling city. we honestly felt like we could skip most of the other views of the castle because the one from the upstairs window was so lovely! the stairs to get to the cottage can feel a bit steep for hauling up your luggage but the comfy bed waiting on the other side makes it worth it. highly recommend and would love to come back again someday!
