King's Cross has become a very desirable area to live, work or play. It is estimated that around £4bn has been invested in redeveloping the area since I moved into this property over 25 years ago. Global companies have located themselves here, the most famous one spending 1.3bn on a new UK HQ! There are countless restaurants, bars and cafes. The magnificently restored railway stations of King's Cross (of Harry Potter fame) and St Pancras are worth looking at closely. The Regent's Canal and Granary Square have colourful houseboats including a floating bookshop: 'Word on the Water'; swans, ducks, moorhens and other wildlife. There is a large and vibrant student community because of the proximity of several London universities, the nearest being the University of the Arts London (UAL).

The best transit hub in London just minutes away. International and national railways at St Pancras / King's Cross. Underground (subway/metro), buses and taxis. Heathrow, Gatwick and Luton airports trains directly to St Pancras / King's Cross (30-55 minutes). City airport: DLR to Bank, Northern Line from Bank to King's Cross (40 minutes). Stansted airport you can get the Stansted Express train to Liverpool Street and the Underground to King's Cross. Euston railway station is only 12 minutes walk away. If you order a cab to my place ask them to pull into the block immediately after the bus stop in Wharfdale Road (that way the cab is off the road). But the best thing about the location is that you can WALK in to the City or the West End within 30 minutes. That way as a tourist you really get to know London and walking is FREE. One easy and lovely walk is simply along the canal towpath, through Camden Lock market to Regent's Park, a Royal Park, surrounded by magnificent C18th villas designed by John Nash.
