Couldn’t of had a better stay. I was at Kehara House for 3 nights and paid for breakfast and dinner each day during my stay. The food was excellent and so nice to have a home cooked meal. The house is in a beautiful peaceful village with lots to do in surrounding areas reachable by car or if you enjoy long walks. Takeshi was extremely accommodating and very knowledgeable of the area. I will definitely be back.

Takeshi san was very kind and hospitable. His house is beautiful and the surroundings are gorgeous. The beds are very comfortable and we had an excellent view from the room. Would recommend this to anyone

The area is gorgeous, a true feast for the eyes, even in winter. The village itself is very picturesque and secluded, with old style buildings and winding, narrow roads. All in all, a very pleasant stay and a real experience of the Japanese countryside. We shared the house with Mr. Takeshi, who welcomed us and also cooked a wonderful, traditionally Japanese meal (everything tasted good, and he caters to vegan/vegetarian tastes). The meals were worth the extra money. While the house is traditional, it has all the needed amenities (modern shower, A/C in rooms etc), and the host is very welcoming (he even took us for a lovely walk around the village). And while he does impose a few rules, most are common sense for a minpaku. Advice: the host doesn't speak much English, so you'd better brush up on your Japanese. Also, bring your own food/drinks if you're picky, the village has no supermarkets (you can find those in the nearby town, reachable in 15 mins by car). And have some cash on you.

様々な地元のお話や、自宅の畑でとれたインゲン豆や手作りのシソジュースも振る舞っていただきました！ 夜は星も綺麗でとても素敵な旅になりました！ 市街へも近く、とても良いアクセスで素敵でした！
