The apartment is very well located in the heart of Venice in one of the most picturesque and representative parts of the city and is within minutes of San Marco Square on one side and the Rialto bridge on the other.
Castello, that’s the name of the neighborhood that surrounds our wonderful home and that will guide you throughout your journey to Venice and its ancient tradition! Here, you will feel the true essence of Venice, with laundry hanging out to dry between the windows, historical studios, bookshops, and boutiques where you can indulge in some local shopping, which feels so unique and separate from the rest of the world!
A few steps away there is the famous and beautiful Piazza San Marco, with the main attractions of Venice (Dodge Palace, St Mark’s Basilica, etc) all to be discovered, admired, and loved. A few minutes walk in the other direction will take you to the Rialto bridge that crosses over the narrowest point of the Grand Canal with its picturesque market.
If you feel like discovering other parts of the lagoon, you can take a Vaporetto (water bus) and visit famous Burano island with its bright small houses, Murano - famous for glassmaking;
Lido with its long sandy beaches and a place where Venice International Film Festival takes place every summer; abandoned Torcello to learn more about Venetian history. Immerse yourself in true Venetian culture and get lost in this fabulous city.

The only way to get around in Venice is on foot or by taking water transportation. There are no cars, trains or taxis : )
Thanks to the apartment’s central position, you can enjoy the city on foot and feel the true soul of this ancient city! The nearby Piazza San Marco, the Arsenale, the Biennale of Venice, and Biennale Gardens are just a short walk away. 400 meters away there is a “Rialto” waterbus stop, with numerous Vaporetto that will take you to all the areas of interest. Even though you can walk most of Venice, some parts are best to see from the water.
<b>Transport </b>
Waterbus’s or Vaporetto as they are called are Venice’s main mode of transportation and can take you to almost every place of interest in the city.
If you want to get from one side of the grand canal to another quickly we recommend taking a Traghetto a gondola-style public ferry, which runs from about 9 am to 6 pm each day at various points along the Grand Canal.
