Rental is for the full property; we now have national electricity and piped water, power sockets, fridge, microwave, etc, and a good phone network. Two ensuite bedrooms, doubles plus king sofa-beds, toilet/hot shower each room. Watch crested cranes, turacos. Swim the lake, walk to Fort Portal and round the lake, visit adjoining lodges, tour our indigenous forest, visit the rift valley. For extra guests ask for the tent (garden campers shower/toilet available). For pre-teen children, no charge.

Crater Lake House is a large house with an open living and dining space at the centre of which is a cozy fireplace. Enjoy spectacular views of Kyaninga Crater Lake and the Mountains of the Moon. This serene getaway is a 20 minute drive from Fort Portal. The lake is clean and safe to swim in, and you can enjoy beautiful walks along the 4 km rim, and/or explore the Crater. A fun get away for families. Breakfast available $10 pp. Grocery shopping $5. Takeaway services are also available.

Der perfekte Ort für Freiwillige und Urlauber, die eine Organisation unterstützen wollen (auch gerne für längere Zeit). Das Haus ist Teil der Community Organisation Kuza Omuto und einer lokalen Schule. Unsere Gäste erleben also das wahre Dorfleben Westugandas .

It’s located in a quiet accessible neighborhood with restaurants, bars, sports ground for soccer/football, volley ball and basket ball courts all within just 300-400m. The golf course and farmers market(Mpanga) can be found in 600m. If you enjoy walks or jogging, this space is definitely for you. At just a distance of 800m from the city.

After many years of travel and adventure, The Butterfly House was born out of the need to share stories and experiences with other travelers. We grow food, herbs, spices and vegetables in our yard and all guests have access so they or we can prepare fresh meals everyday. We are located in Boma just 2kms from the main Fort Portal City Central business area and can be easily accessed at any time of the day.
