Rideau Pines - Big Rideau Lake

Vacation on the shores of the Big Rideau Lake, this cottage has an open concept and a private screened-in porch. Its a great place to spend a week or two away from the city! Relax on the decks that span the length of the cottage on both sides. Enjoy the lawn and fire-pit on a starry summer night and wake up to a water view of the bay. This cottage is located close to the popular tourist town of Portland Ontario, only minutes from Highway #15 mid-way between Toronto and Montreal and less than an hour from the US/Canada border making this a great place for families to congregate! Please note that this cottage was just purchased in April 2019 and was extensively renovated just prior to the rental season this year including a new deck the full length of the cottage, new bunkie, and other cosmetic enhancements! Included: 3 kayaks, 2 SUPs, a large dock to handle up to three boats, fire pit, full kitchen, full bathroom, large lake-facing deck, and open concept kitchen/living room w/ a wood stove. There are three bedrooms in the main cottage, two with queen beds and one with a set of bunk beds, a double futon in the living room plus a full bathroom. The bunkhouse has a queen bed and a set of bunk beds. ***The wifi is super fast now, up to 935 mbs!*** There are several golf courses within a 30 minute drive, plus shopping and restaurants, historic sites, and walking and biking trails. Walking distance to the village grocery, bank, liquor store and gas station. Beds: In the cottage the master bedroom has a Queen bed, bedroom #2 had a double bed and bedroom #3 has a set of bunk beds (two single mattresses). The bunkie has a queen bed and a set of bunk beds with a double on bottom and singe on top. The Rideau Canal is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and was rated #2 as an exceptional historic site destination by National Geographic. The Rideau Lakes Region is a great place to explore. You can take advantage of the great fishing, boating, swimming, water-skiing, or lock through the historic canal system to the other attached lakes and towns. In the surrounding towns and cities there are lots of activities, and events to participate in including, golf, historic tours, boat tours, shopping, restaurants, hiking trails, and lots more! This cabin provides an idyllic stop over for boaters traveling through the Rideau Canal, a family vacation on an annual fishing trip or a couple looking for a romantic outdoor getaway. Sit and watch the stars as you roast marshmallows in the fire pit by the lake, or visit the historic towns in the area. Chaffey's Lock and Davis Lock can be accessed by boat from Opinicon Lake. The Rideau Lakes Region is a great place to explore. This property has the most amazing view from 80 feet above the lake, looking out at the 20+ islands on the clear waters of Devil Lake. This property has a beautiful natural sandy beach that is completely private! Escape to this property and forget all of your worries as you relax on this secluded retreat! Please note that the pictures were taken in the fall when the water is lower. The Lake level is usually higher early in the summer, and in June and early July the water is high enough to cover the sand up to the shoreline. Please also note that the cottage allows up to 10 people, but only has sleeping for 8 people. If 10 people are coming, please bring air mattresses or playpens for the extra two persons.
