Stay in a house rich in history: Barclays erected the sandstone building in the early 1900’s. After many other uses it was renovated as a self-catering guesthouse accommodating six people in 3 en-suite bedrooms; 2 double bedrooms & a twin room. Beautiful wooden floors, fireplaces and stained-glass doors in the living room, lots of original paintings and fully equipped kitchen add to the warm ambience and atmosphere of the house. Experience old time magic in the beautiful lake district of SA.

At night the High-veld stars should drape the sky. Our farm is located on route to Kruger National Park, Swaziland and KZN. We are 16 km from Smitsfield, 15 km from Kralingberg and 45 km from Florence wedding venues. Cleaning services can be arranged at an additional cost.

Please note it is a 7km gravel road to the Cottage higher cars needed after rains and 50m stop from cottage and you have to take a stepping stone walk way to the house as its to wet to drive to the door. The Melkstal used to be a milking parlor and we have transformed it into "back packers" accommodation which is ideal for groups to overnight in. There is only a coffee station with coffee, tea, milk and sugar provided. Experience the farm atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A farm breakfast is included in the price and dinner can be served but must be pre ordered . We sometimes have all four seasons in one day, be prepared !
